An engagement shoot is very worthwhile I feel. Firstly, you get to know your photographer before your wedding day, and it's very important to get comfortable with getting your photo taken. Even though I shoot documentary style on the wedding, most people still want to get some posed shots after the wedding ceremony, just some of the mantle piece shots so to speak. Getting an engagement shoot prepares you for that. Secondly, and more importantly - you get a timeless record of photos to look back at in years to come.
